Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a
theatre actor writer, director, and actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her
mother and an actress. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira
David Wood III, an actor. Evan as well as her brothers often performed in the
Theatre In The Park in Raleigh where her father established and where he is the
executive director. After a long audition process and a five-year age gap, she was
old when she had the opportunity to screen-test with Kirsten Dunst. She
relocated to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She has had
success ever since acting in television series, TV films and feature films. She
was in Practical Magic (1998) and starred in the comedy S1m0ne (2002) as the
daughter of Al Pacino, and the film followed with Thirteen (2003) featuring
Holly Hunter. Her breakout performance in the role of Tracy in
"Thirteen" brought her a Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors
Guild Award nomination. When she received the nomination from SAG and was the
most youthful actor in the Leading Role category. For her role as Veda Pierce,
the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe
nominations. Also, she received praise for her impressive performance in the
role of Stephanie, Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter, in Darren Aronofsky's
The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III.
Younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a dancer who has been
trained. She is a singer, loves to do horseback riding, and rollerblade. She
has the black belt from tae Kwon Do. Has kept in touch with the majority of her
Once and Again (1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
